Awarded the The Anand Paul Memorial Award for Social Service at The Telegraph School Awards for Excellence 2017 by The Telegraph Education Foundation.

  • Awarded the Nation Builders Award by Rotary Club of Calcutta Mega City
  • Awarded the Nation Builders Award by Rotary India Literacy Mission
  • Accorded with the Citation of Excellence by Rotary Club of Calcutta Mega City
  • Accorded with the Vocational Excellency award by Rotary Club of Garden Reach
  • Able to bring down the School Drop out rate from 100% to below 15%
  • Able to bring down the girl child marriage by 70%
  • Able to take the Madhyamik (Class X) pass count from 2 to 65
  • Increase in students pursuing studies after Madhyamik from 0% to 85%
  • Ensure safe drinking water in 10 villages
  • 93 Non Literate Adults made literate from 5 villages
  • Successfully undertaken DST GOI, sponsored 3 years Sustainable Livelihood Program of SC community for 2 villages.

Current Activities

Integrated development of the 16 tribal villages of Chaupahari jungle in Illamabazar block of Birbhum district in West Bengal.

  • Supportive education through free coaching to over 450 children from 12 villages
  • Providing vocational training such as tailoring, Malaysian Batik, bamboo and palm coir handicrafts, paper bag and seed ornament making to SHG members;
  • Promoting kitchen gardens, animal husbandry and vermicompost on family level;
  • Cultivation of high value Rabi Crop for optimal utilization of land and water resources;
  • Strengthening of over 54 Self Help Groups (SHG);
  • Periodic medical camps, eye camps, distribution of free spectacles and eye operations;
  • Preservation of traditional art & culture through annual Sports and Cultural Meets;
  • Running Adult Literacy and E-Learning program in association with Rotary Club of Calcutta Megacity under RILM program.
  • Undertaking Sustainable Livelihood Programs through capacity building trainings and support for micro enterprise;

Past Activities

  • Provided safe drinking water through 14 hand pumps and 3 mini submersible pumps;
  • Financial support towards education, medication and general welfare of children to 2 destitute homes namely Pannamayee Sishu Niketan and Sree Ramakrishna Sevashram;
  • Conducted periodic free medical camps and clinics in association with DSP, Ainak, Lions Club of Panagargh, IPGA – Bengal Chapter and others;
  • Participation and support to medical relief work of Sarada Ashram, Bharat Sevashram Sangha and Ramakrishna Mission;
  • Formation and strengthening of around 50 Self Help Groups (SHGs)
  • Conducted NABARD sponsored SHG leaders workshop;
  • Participated in NABARD sponsored national Karigar Haat Mela;
  • Conducted EDP training for PMEGP beneficiarieson behalf of Haldane Society for Eco-Research and Enterprise Development;
  • Conducted Annual Sports and Cultural Meet since 2005 for 14 tribal villages;-

Future Plans & Requirements

  • Extension of Supportive Education Program (SEP) in remaining 6 villages of Illamabzar and Bolpur Block;
  • Setting up study centres in the remaining 13 villages;
  • Setting up Short Stay Home for Tribal Students;;
  • Setting up Educational Lab, Science Lab and Computer Lab;
  • Starting evening study centres in the remaining villages;
  • Imparting Vocational Training and developing Sheltered Workshops;
  • Starting mobile clinic in order to take Primary Health Service to the door step
  • Capacity Building through various Livelihood trainingtraining for socio-economic development;
  • Ensuring women empowerment;
  • Setting up Farm School’
