About the Trust

Nayantara Memorial Charitable Trust (Regd.), popularly known as Nayantara or NMCT, is formed by a group of individuals of compassionate mind. They are true to their obligation to give back to the society it’s due share by lending hands to the poor especially the destitute, the looked down upon, the deprived and the down trodden.

We work to change their hopes to reality, to make sure that these people never forget what it means to smile. We have been working for welfare of the tribal people in the villages of Illambazar since our inception in Novenber 2002. Ever since, we have strived to educate the masses specially the children and provide help to the villagers to stand on their own feet. NAYANTARA has come a long way and is proud to have been able to bring permanent smiles to hundreds of its beneficiaries.

WHY NMCT

Among the villages of Bengal lies groups of vulnerable people, the tribals, who still suffer to gain control over their lives. Our focus is to bring these people to realize that they themselves can be bearers of change and have a brighter future. Our aim is to empower them with tools and trainings and education and knowledge and build them up to rise from the state of poverty that they are born into.  Our work is to teach and provide and help these tribals from the poorest and the most disadvantaged section of the society broadly in the sectors of health and well being, livelihood and last but not the least, education.

Moto

Our Moto, is again inspired and understood by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda that the Service of God in Man for “Atmano Mokshartham Jagad-hitaya Cha” for one’s own liberation and for the good of the world.
